SRMS Riddhima Hosts ‘Sahitya Sarita’ Kavi Sammelan, Celebrates Poetry and Literature

Bareilly: SRMS Riddhima hosted an evening of poetry and literary expression with the successful organisation of ‘Sahitya Sarita’, a Kavi Sammelan that brought together renowned poets from across Uttar Pradesh. The event featured a blend of devotional, romantic, social and humorous poetry, captivating the audience with diverse literary performances.

The programme commenced with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati by poet Akanksha Gupta from Hardoi. Through her verses, she highlighted the spiritual and cultural richness of Sanatan traditions, setting a reflective tone for the evening.

Poet Vikas Arya ‘Swapn’ from Puranpur presented a thought-provoking poem on the struggles of the working class, portraying the hardships faced by daily wage labourers and the uncertainty of their livelihoods. His socially relevant verses drew an emotional response from the audience.

Humour and satire took centre stage when P.K. ‘Deewana’ from Bareilly entertained the gathering with witty observations on married life and family relationships. His light-hearted performance, featuring humorous exchanges between husband and wife, had the audience laughing throughout the session.

Representing Badaun, Abhishek Anant recited romantic verses celebrating enduring love and companionship, while Umesh Trigunayat ‘Adbhut’ delivered poetry emphasising national unity, sacrifice and harmony beyond religious divisions. His composition encouraged social cohesion and patriotism.

Poet Himanshu Shrotriya ‘Nishpaksh’ concluded the recitations with a powerful poem expressing concern over growing social divisions and the erosion of cultural roots, urging people to uphold unity and constructive values.

The literary evening was attended by Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Gupta, Dr. Shailesh Saxena, and Ashwani Kumar Chauhan, Coordinator of Sahitya Sarita, along with literature enthusiasts and invited guests.

The programme was effectively anchored by Umesh Trigunayat ‘Adbhut’, whose engaging presentation ensured the smooth conduct of the event. The Kavi Sammelan concluded with appreciation for the participating poets and a renewed commitment to promoting literature, culture and creative expression through such forums.
